Review: 2010 MOMO Pinot Noir Marlborough, New Zealand

Photo: MOMO Pinot Noir with Lamb Chops.

Last minute Labor Day wine recommendation.

If you are looking for a fun, tasty, food friendly wine, then go find a bottle of MOMO Pinot Noir. Not only does it taste great, it is also a certified organic wine. Winemaker Clive Dougall has done well.

This wine had a pretty ruby color. It was instantly drinkable on opening, which is good to know when you are entertaining. The nose was pleasing with: cherry, strawberry, violets, and a bit of earth. It was drier than I expected, with bright edges. Chalk, cherry and strawberry completed the clean and smooth finish. The 2010 MOMO Pinot Noir had just enough tannins to mate well with the rack of lamb I cooked for dinner. Thumbs up! I liked this wine and think you will too. Recommended.
