Review: Seresin 2010 Sauvignon Blanc

Photo: Seresin 2010 Sauvignon Blanc with grilled wild Cod.
An Estate Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand.

Seresin's first vintage was in 1996. In 2000 the Tatou vineyard was purchased, followed a year later by land in the Omaka Valley which has become Raupo Creek vineyard. Their grapes are organically and biodynamically grown, hand-tended and hand-picked.

Tasting Notes:
Color: pale yellow with green highlights
Nose: caramel, mineral, toast, touch floral.
Flavor: crisp lemon, honey, creamy and full in mouth. Medium bright finish of lemon toast, mineral. After 3 days lovely peach aromas and flavor emerged.

This is the highest alcohol New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc "Savy" I have tried. However, the Semillon fills out this wine and adds some complexity. A more serious Sauvignon Blanc, in my consideration, deserving of good company and special occasions. Pair this Savy with grilled chicken, pork chops, Cioppino, and lobster. I enjoyed this wine with grilled wild Cod. Recommended.
